Norman – Glen Courtright
Glen Courtright (octave mandolin) is the “inside voice” of the group. A former U.S. Naval officer from Ventura, California, Glen played tr
umpet in various jazz and blues ensembles, and in military bands and orchestras before switching to the mandolin. Glen fell in love with the mandolin when he was stationed in Italy, where he acquired the nickname “il Normano.” Glen speaks Italian and is an entrepreneur in the field of alternative/renewable energy. In his spare time Glen enjoys sailing, competitive cycling, and saving the planet with green energy whilst dabbling in greedy capitalism. He recently celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary with Cindy Courtright by buying a rare and expensive “octar” (guitar-bodied octave mandolin) for himself, with which to serenade his wife.
